ACES Quiz

What is the ACE Quiz for Trauma?

Adverse childhood experiences, or ACES, are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood years (0-17 years). ACEs are divided into three categories: abuse, household challenges and neglect, however there are a wide range of ACEs such as witnessing violence in the home, community or having a family member attempt or die by suicide, mental illness, parental separation, divorce, and substance abuse.  If a child’s home environment undermines their sense of safety, stability, and bonding it can also be classified.

ACEs are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance use problems in adulthood. ACEs can also negatively impact education, job opportunities, and earning potential, however ACEs can be prevented. Adverse Childhood Experiences have a tremendous impact on future violence victimization and perpetration, and lifelong health and opportunity.

The ACE Assessment is a ten-question assessment that assess any abuse (emotional, physical, and sexual), neglect (physical and emotional) and family dysfunction (family mental illness, physical abuse of mother, divorce, incarcerated parent, and substance abuse in the family) that has taken place in during the childhood years.

Please take our ACE assessment so that we can better assess your needs!
